Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often. They are general in nature and are no substitute for a review of your own situation.
What is a fiduciaire in Morocco?
In Morocco, “fiduciaire” commonly refers to a firm that supports businesses with accounting, tax and administrative management. It is an everyday business term rather than a regulated title, so it is worth checking the scope of the engagement and the team’s qualifications.
What is the difference between a fiduciaire, a licensed accountant and a chartered accountant?
The titles of expert-comptable (Law 15-89) and comptable agréé (Law 127-12) are regulated, and certifying financial statements is reserved for chartered accountants. “Fiduciaire” is a business term. From the first conversation, we make clear what falls within our remit.
Do you prepare VAT, corporate tax and income tax filings?
Yes. Preparing tax filings is part of our Tax service. We prepare the filing information from your books and support you with e-filing on the DGI’s SIMPL services, within the agreed scope.
Why use a firm rather than handle the accounting yourself?
Doing your own accounting is possible for some businesses, but it takes time and a sound grasp of the rules. A firm brings method, an outside perspective and continuity. Above all, it lets you focus on running your business while relying on accurate information to make decisions.
Which accounting and tax obligations apply to my business?
That depends on factors such as your legal form, tax regime, activity and revenue. Identifying what applies to you is exactly what the first conversation is for. For official texts, the Moroccan General Tax Directorate (tax.gov.ma) remains the reference source.
What happens in the first conversation?
It is a discussion to understand your business, how things are organised today and what you expect. Afterwards, we tell you whether and how we can help, then send a proposal setting out the scope of the engagement.
What documents should I prepare to get started?
For a first conversation, an overview of your business is enough. To start an engagement, we will usually ask for your company documents, bank statements, purchase and sales invoices and, where relevant, previous financial statements and filings. You will receive the exact list for your situation.
Do you work with small businesses and new entrepreneurs?
Yes. Entrepreneurs, sole traders and small businesses are among the clients we support. We adapt how the engagement is organised, and its scope, to the size and needs of each business.
How are fees set?
Fees depend on transaction volume, the complexity of the file and the scope of the engagement. They are set out in a written proposal before any commitment.
How is my information protected?
Discretion is one of our core principles. The information you share is used only to handle your request and your file. Our privacy policy, written with reference to Moroccan Law 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, sets out your rights.
Can we talk on WhatsApp?
Yes — for a first contact or a quick question, WhatsApp is often the most convenient. For sending accounting documents, we will agree on the most suitable channel together.
